Clinical study of ectopic pregnancy in a tertiary care centre in Andhra Pradesh

Background: If not detected early, ectopic pregnancy can result in a gynaecological emergency with significant abdominal bleeding, hypovolemic shock, and maternal death. The main objectives of this study are to find out the incidence pregnancy, demographic profile women, risk factors clinical presentation, treatment modalities outcome our hospital. Methods: This prospective observational was conducted department obstetrics Gynaecology, at tertiary care centre, Andhra Pradesh from January 2021 December 2022. A total 62 cases were analysed for parameters like characteristics, gravidity, factors, outcome. Results: present 9.7 per thousand deliveries. Majority belonged age group 21-25 years (67.7%) gravida 3 above (49.1%). Commonest identified tubal ligation (29%) history previous abortions (19.3%). frequent presenting symptoms pain (87%) amenorrhea (38.7%). Most patients required surgical management (91.9%), medical done 4 expectant 1 case. Tubal is more common. Anaemia seen 64.5% that multiple blood transfusions (72.5%) resuscitation. There no mortality current study.Conclusions: Ectopic an which timely intervention will reduce morbidity mortality. Clinical presentation varies case still there chance missing diagnosis small proportion even availability advanced imaging techniques. For early clinician should be aware about various presentations associated pregnancy.
